Offer Letter Scanner — Auto-Fill + Offer Grade

The fastest way to calculate your in-hand salary — and the only tool that tells you if your offer is actually good. Upload your offer letter image and In-Hand.in reads it for you: CTC, basic, HRA, EPF, variable pay, joining bonus, RSU, city, and job context are extracted and pre-filled into the calculator automatically. No manual entry needed.

After scanning, every offer is graded A+ to C based on its structure — not just the headline CTC. Basic salary as a % of CTC, variable pay risk, whether EPF, gratuity, or health insurance are buried inside CTC to inflate the number, RSU upside, joining bonus. Tap Why? for a plain-English breakdown of every signal that went into the grade — so you know exactly what to negotiate before you sign.

Dual Tax Regime Support (FY 2026-27)

Compare Old and New tax regimes side-by-side with accurate FY 2026-27 calculations. Old regime offers ₹2.5L exemption with 80C/80D/HRA deductions, while New regime provides ₹4L exemption with simplified taxation. Make informed decisions and maximize your take-home salary.

50+ Customization Fields

Model any salary structure with unparalleled detail. We support every standard Indian tax deduction, including Section 80C (₹1.5L), 80D (₹75K), HRA (metro/non-metro 50%/40%), home loan interest (₹2L), NPS (₹50K), EPF+ voluntary contributions, bonus/RSU, pension maximization, and state-specific professional tax. Advanced features include K/L/Cr notation for fast input (type "12L" instead of "1200000") and auto-optimization of tax deductions.

Bonus & RSU: Yearly In-Hand, Post-Tax

Monthly in-hand is calculated on fixed pay only — Basic, HRA, and allowances. Switch to the Annual view and we add Bonus and RSU back in, taxed correctly: both are stacked on top of your base taxable income and taxed at the slab and surcharge rate they actually fall into (not a flat-rate estimate), with surcharge marginal relief applied at the ₹50L/1Cr/2Cr/5Cr thresholds. A breakdown panel shows exactly how much of your Bonus and RSU survive tax, alongside the Fixed contribution.

RSU & ESOP Equity Calculator

Dedicated tool for Indian employees holding equity from US-listed or US-based companies. Model multiple vesting tranches with USD or INR FMV, per-vest perquisite tax (Sec 17(2)), capital gains at sale (STCG/LTCG — 24-month hold for US shares under Indian law), sell-to-cover estimates, LTCG timelines, and sell-now-vs-wait insights. Enter RSU on the main calculator and a Smart Insight links here with your salary and RSU amount prefilled.

How We Calculate Peer Compare Scores

Company pages on Peer Compare show four sub-scores plus an overall Company Score, each derived directly from anonymous, self-reported salary submissions.

Pay Volatility Score

For every submission at a company, we compute stock + bonus as a percentage of total CTC. The score is the median of that percentage across all of the company's submissions, scaled to 1-10.

  • 1-3 (Stable): pay is mostly fixed base — up to ~20% variable
  • 4-6 (Mixed): a meaningful share is bonus/stock — up to ~40% variable
  • 7-10 (Volatile): more than 40% of pay depends on bonus and stock performance

These are the same thresholds used to label individual salary rows Stable/Mixed/Volatile elsewhere on Peer Compare, so the company-level score never contradicts the rows beneath it.

Equity Score

Pay Volatility Score treats stock and bonus as one number, which hides a real difference — stock is ownership upside, bonus is closer to guaranteed cash. Equity Score isolates stock alone as a percentage of total CTC (median across submissions, scaled to 1-10), so you can tell whether a company's variable pay is real equity or mostly a cash bonus.

  • 1-3 (Cash-heavy): little to no real equity — up to ~20% stock
  • 4-6 (Mixed): a meaningful chunk is stock — up to ~40%
  • 7-10 (Equity-heavy): more than 40% of pay is stock/RSU

Get Rich Score

We compute the median CTC for every company in the dataset with enough submissions, then rank a company's median as a percentile against every other qualifying company (excluding the company's own value from the comparison set), scaled to 1-10. A higher score means the company pays at the top end of the market relative to every other company we track.

Pay Spread Score

Two companies can pay the same median CTC and have the same comp mix, but one pays everyone almost the same while the other varies widely. Pay Spread Score measures the gap between a company's P25 and P75 CTC relative to its own median, scaled to 1-10 — higher means wider, less predictable pay, not "worse" pay.

  • 1-3 (Narrow): pay bands are tight and standardized
  • 4-6 (Moderate): a real but moderate spread between quartiles
  • 7-10 (Wide): pay varies widely — highly dependent on negotiation, level, or track

Company Score (overall)

Company Score blends the four sub-scores above into a single 1-10 answer to "how good is this company to work for, pay-wise, all things considered": 50% Get Rich Score + 20% Equity Score + 15% (inverted) Pay Volatility Score + 15% (inverted) Pay Spread Score, rounded to the nearest whole number. Pay level and real equity upside count in a company's favor; unpredictable pay — high volatility or a wide P25-P75 spread — counts against it, even though neither sub-score is labeled "bad" on its own card.

Company Score only appears once a company has all four sub-scores available, so it carries the same 12-submission minimum as the rest.

Data requirements

A company needs at least 12 self-reported submissions with a valid CTC before any score is shown — below that, we don't display a number built on too little data. Scores only appear on a company's own dedicated page, not on city- or role-filtered views of that company, since those narrower slices don't represent the company as a whole. As more salaries are submitted, more companies cross the threshold.
